Android Studio Linux Install

Android, Computer, Linux, TTOS, Tutorials, Tutorials

The installation procedure varies from distro to distro but for the most part, it should be the same on all debian based distro’s. During this test, I am using TTOS Linux Version 1.0 (based on Debian Jessie). This tutorial should also work for Linux Mint, Ubuntu, and any other Debian based distro.

The first thing we need to do is make sure we have the Java SE Development Kit 7 or later installed.  We do this by opening a terminal and typing the command…

# javac -version

If Java SE Development Kit is not installed, or not at least version 7, you can download and install from this location…

Java SE Development Kit 7

(SKIP THIS PART IF YOU ALREADY HAVE JAVA SE DEV INSTALLED)

In a terminal window, navigate to where you want JDK installed.

# tar -zxvf /path-to-download-folder/jdk-7u79-linux-x64.tar.gz

At this point, we can continue with installing Android Studio from here…

Android Studio

Look for the Android Studio Linux package… which can be found here…

android-studio-ide-141.2456560-linux.zip

As always, carefully review the license agreement, agree to it, and download it.

In a terminal window, navigate to where you want to install android studio to.

type in the following command…

# unzip /path-to-download-folder/android-studio-ide-141.2456560-linux.zip

enter the new bin directory inside the android studio folder, and type the following command…

# ./studio.sh

After everything is set up, open up Android Studio, and go to the SDK Manager.

Select…

  • Android SDK Tools
  • Android SDK Platform-tools
  • Android SDK Build-tools (highest version)

Open the folder labeled Android 5.x, and select SDK Platform, and an ARM cpu based system image for the emulator.

That’s it!  You now have Android Studio set up on your TTOS Linux / Debian Jessie system!

  • Hello Web Admin, I noticed that your On-Page SEO is is missing a few factors, for one you do not use all three H tags in your post, also I notice that you are not using bold or italics properly in your SEO optimization. On-Page SEO means more now than ever since the new Google update: Panda. No longer are backlinks and simply pinging or sending out a RSS feed the key to getting Google PageRank or Alexa Rankings, You now NEED On-Page SEO. So what is good On-Page SEO?First your keyword must appear in the title. Then it must appear in the URL.You have to optimize your keyword and make sure that it has a nice keyword density of 3-5% in your article with relevant LSI (Latent Semantic Indexing). Then you should spread all H1,H2,H3 tags in your article.Your Keyword should appear in your first paragraph and in the last sentence of the page. You should have relevant usage of Bold and italics of your keyword. There should be one internal link to a page on your blog and you should have one image with an alt tag that has your keyword….wait there’s even more Now what if i told you there was a simple WordPress plugin that does all the On-Page SEO, and automatically for you? That’s right AUTOMATICALLY, just watch this 4minute video for more information at. Seo Plugin

  • Hello, I think your website might be having browser compatibility issues.
When I look at your blog in Firefox, it looks fine but when opening in Internet Explorer, it has some overlapping.

I just wanted to give you a quick heads up!
    Other then that, fantastic blog!

    • Thanks for the heads up, however Internet Explorer is not compatible with the latest web standards and never will be becuase Microsoft has depreciated it in favor of the new edge browser. The wordpress template used on this site is a bootstrap 3 HTML5 template, hence any updated browser based on webkit, firefox, or Microsoft Edge will present the proper behavior during viewing.
